Formada Lisette set up Capoeira School
Semente da Senzala in Haarlem in 2003. She has been playing Capoeira
for eleven and teaching for seven years.
She received her Capoeira
"Formada" title in 2008 from Mestre Sombra of the
Associação de Capoeira Senzala de Santos, Brazil.
After completing her VWO at the Stedelijk Gymnasium in Haarlem, her BA
(hons) Performance (Theatre) Management and her MBA (Generic
Management), at the University of Leeds, she worked for several theatre
and dance companies in the UK after which she moved for two years to
Brazil to train Capoeira under Mestre Sombra, and teach English and
German.
Formada Lisette is tri-lingual (Dutch, English, German) and speaks
Portuguese. As she lived in England, Germany and Brazil, travelled a
year through South America and Asia and also travelled around Europe,
US and Russia, she has a profound first hand knowledge of what it is to
encounter, live and work in other cultures. For her culture is a
completely underestimated profound force of behaviour and therefore
believes, should be taught to university students and business
managers.
Having participated for ten years at gymnastic championships on Dutch
national level, trained Kung Fu for four years until Brown Belt (and
trained one month with the Shaolin Monks in China), and
danced modern, classical ballet until RAD level intermediate for
fifteen years, and recuperated from a motorbike accident where she
broke her back, smashed her legs and spent a total of six months in a
wheelchair, she literally has a large ‘body knowledge’ of creative
movement.
As her studies at the University of Leeds also included cross-cultural
management theory, Human Resource Management, and Strategic Management
she can innovitively combine management theory or language teaching
with
(Capoeira) movement in any of her workshops.
